As Principal at R+A Engineering, Matthew has led the delivery of structural engineering projects in both the private and public sectors for over a decade. Before moving into structural design, he worked as a field engineer on large institutional projects across Western Canada, gaining a broad perspective on the construction industry. Today, he draws on that experience to design structural systems that balance efficiency, constructability, and value. His portfolio includes institutional, recreational, residential, and heritage building upgrades. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, and skiing.

Evan is a seasoned structural engineer with nearly a decade of experience leading projects including high-end custom homes, cultural centers, and public artworks. With a passion for clean, simple, and effective design, he works with all major building materials to create functional and elegant structures. Evan fosters strong relationships with architects, builders, and clients, delivering exceptional results through clear communication, practical on-site experience, and a collaborative approach that balances cost and design expectations. His projects have been featured in publications such as Dezeen, The Vancouver Sun, Wallpaper, and the book Reside. Outside of work, Evan enjoys cooking for friends and family, snowboarding, and playing volleyball.

Edo brings more than 15 years of experience in architectural and structural design to R+A Engineering. He specializes in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and uses Revit to develop detailed 3D construction drawings that help projects move seamlessly from concept to completion. Edo’s background includes work on bridges, healthcare facilities, sports and recreation projects, and a wide range of residential buildings. Known for his strong leadership and professionalism, he also supports projects with planning, coordination, and inspection services.In his free time, Edo enjoys spending time outdoors and playing basketball.

Candace keeps R+A running smoothly by managing the daily operations of the office and supporting both our engineers and clients. With a background in administration and a talent for organization, she ensures projects stay on track behind the scenes. Known for her approachable and solution-focused style, Candace is often the first friendly face our clients connect with. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the Okanagan and spending time with her family.

Greg brings decades of experience in structural design and detailing to R+A Engineering. Before joining the team, he worked with RJC Engineers in Calgary for 27 years, contributing to a wide range of complex projects. Now working remotely from Calgary, Greg supports R+A by preparing detailed drawings, coordinating with engineers, and performing site reviews to ensure projects meet code and constructability standards. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and travelling.

Jeffery joined R+A Engineering in 2024, bringing with him valuable experience from his time at SmartLam North America and Structurlam, where he worked extensively on mass timber projects. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of British Columbia and applies his technical expertise to help deliver thoughtful and efficient structural solutions. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys playing and watching basketball, and hanging out with his corgi puppy, Hazel.

Hannah has been with R+A Engineering since 2023 as a project engineer, during her working trip from New Zealand. When she is not exploring remote locations of the province, Hannah utilizes her extensive structural and seismic design experience from New Zealand to assist the project team with a variety of projects.

Taylor joined R+A Engineering with over 7 years of structural engineering experience, focusing on building structures and supported by a background in bridge and marine infrastructure work. Prior to joining the team, he worked on several BC Housing multi-family projects, townhouses, and high-end custom homes. Taylor applies his technical expertise to deliver thoughtful, practical solutions for every project he works on. Outside of work, he is an avid skier and trail runner who enjoys spending time outdoors in the mountains.

Lorne has been with R+A Engineering since 2003 as Senior Site Representative and Draftsman. Before that, he worked as a project draftsman on a variety of projects with RJC in the Lower Mainland for over 15 years. With extensive onsite field experience and an exceptional attention to detail, Lorne is a valued asset to the R+A team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his grandkids and riding motorcycles.

Maggie spends most of her days sleeping. To be honest, we are not really sure what she does around here, but we like having her. As R+A’s friendly face (and sometimes overly enthusiastic door greeter), she’s always excited to meet someone new. Out of the office Maggie enjoys birding.
